Can you please tell us what cards you have installed in your lappie? I am looking on getting a dual wifi cards installed internally as well. what wifi chipsets currently do you have? I'm looking at getting an atheros or orinoco based modules. I currently have a broadcom (dell brand 1505 i think) pre-n installed.

Also, is the switch working for both? if it does, Do the wifi sniffer button work as well? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If anyone who has the same setup as kunal2sh please feel free to share your experiences, what do you use it for and any problems that I might encounter in this kind of setup.

None AFAIK. I have a G internal and use an N external. They almost always play OK together but I usually disable the G because every so often there seem to be conflicts between the two.

How are you going to hook the antenna to two cards at the same time?

intel 5300 is a great wi-fi card but can't be used as a sniffer,

atheros card will be the sniffer for this program http://www.tamos.com/products/commwifi/

this way each card does different task

It depends actually if you travel alot and deals with different wifi connections connected to different kind of routers with different router chips that sometimes connects somewhat differently on broadcom, atheros, ralink, etc.

Atheros and Broadcom, being the more popular, might have a better chance on getting connected if the other (atheros or broadcom) is having bad connectivity on a given wifi connection. This will lessen the frustrations especially when you need to get something done quickly.

Surely, you can use external ones (usb or expresscard) but having it internally will take the hassle out of the usb or expresscard protruding from the lappie.

Maybe 99.9% will find no use or advantage for it but there might be .1% (maybe less) that will have use for it like me...

Plus Atheros is a good sniffer... It is useful if you want to probe the area around you and be connected to the internet at the same time... if that works and that no conflict between the two wifis occurs... Can also be useful if you are using ArcGis to map wifi around a given area.

edit: really sorry for the multiple posts. I got an error i thought my post didnt go through. tried a couple of times but my PC keeps showing the error. tried opening the same thread and didn't see it posted so i thought it was just a site error. Admins please delete the extra posts.

    I'm really sorry...

The WWAN antenna wont be tuned for the right frequencies, but may work well enough for your purposes.

    WWAN is 850,1900,2100 MHz

WLAN is 2400 and 5000 MHz
