Does it keep spitting it out? That is what happened to my XPS 13. The tech came and put a new drive, but that didnt fix the problem. My XPS had to be replaced with a new system.

A similar issue happened to me three times. I had my drive replaced twice and it still didn't work and I got a replacement system in January. My drive would except all disk but the Official Vista or Windows 7 Ultimate Disk. It made a loud noise and wouldn't read but the disk worked on my older m1330 system. Dell was trying to convince me that slot loading DVD drives are very loud and their was something wrong with my disks. I'm currently waiting for a replacement since April because my drive now refuses to read any DVD media. You should definitely do a dell chat and try and get it sorted.
