    Dell XPS 15 L502x

I'm going to do a clean install, so I'm collecting drivers.

Sept 13, nVIDIA released new GeForce R304 Driver v. 306.23, which applies to the GeoForce GT 525M I have on my XPS 15.

Anyone install this yet on an XPS 15? Recommended?

I'm currently using 306.23 for gt525m, no problems yet.

since it is the latest version and there are no known issues is recomended to install it.

well, I also read somewhere the 304.48 give a nice fps boost on many games, and also 296.10 version is the latest pre 3xx drivers, wich many users complained about performance loss.

I supose you will get most performance on 296.10 or 304.48 and most bugs fixed on the latest version while using 3xx drivers compared with the old 2xx drivers.

anyway I cant confirm since I didnt made any test.

    your choice ^^

I'm also using that driver on my 15z and I have no issues to report.

I don't know if anybody notices this, but since 30X.XX drivers, my GT 525M is overvolted to 0.98v on idle.
Can you try using GPU-Z sensors and report me back.

Anyway, in gaming.. voltage roll back to it's default state ( 0.95v ).

are you using a modded voltage bios or stock bios?

what software you use to monitorize the voltage? nvidia inspector, HWmonitor, or other?

My machine is not XPS, and I'm not using any modded BIOS, just the latest BIOS for my machine ( Inspiorn 15R N5110 ).

    GPU-Z reports 0.98v :

    Capture.PNG

HWMonitor reports 0.95v and NVIDIA Inspector as well.

I don't care about this problem since my max temp in Furmark is 66C ( I ran this test 24/8 , maybe it rose 3C or 4C now ) :

And the voltage is normal when I'm gaming ( 0.95v on load ), just thought to ask if anyone is facing the same issue.

    :)

I'm betting on GPU-Z reporting an erroneous value, either that or there is a problem with voltage control. AFAIK, the voltages are set in the vbios and not the driver.

I know it's a wrong reading, but it's strange because it's related to the driver, If I install 296.10, there is no issues. There is a something too, GPU-Z 0.5.7 reports the right voltage even on 306.23.

Anyway, it's harmless, I don't care. Thanks for your help :)

I've had some versions of GPU-Z report 0V for my mobility 5870 on some versions of the Catalyst driver so the issue is not so uncommon i'd say.

My Windows Experience score fell two tenths of a piont =(

Haven't had a chance to test them out in game yet. I remembered, after I installed and rebooted, that I was going to go into a game and note my FPS, then install the new ones to compare--then slapped my forehead when I realized I forgot.
