    Help
    I`ve just got XPS 1530 with 8600gt 4gb ram and ssd 128gb
3dmark gives mi 2134points ??? Verry odd. I am testing it through VNC remotele but I doubt that it slows it so much. BTW Ihad problems runing 3dmar06 i gave me an error about dx9. Counter Strike gives me 83 fps on stress test
I added -dx9 to the shortcut of 3dmark06.exe to be able to run the test
    Should I be worried.
    10x

I had a similar problem, and I found that the video drivers were not properly installed for whatever reason.

if you have vista, do the windows experience score (or whatever it is called)...that's how I figured it out, since my graphics score was 1.0.

I downloaded the 180.44 drivers and they went back to 5.5, then I got 5235 for 3dM06.

    worth a try at least.

by the way, I just noticed your vnc comment...that would most definitely affect the score.

start the test and exit VNC for 15 minutes, then come back to see the result.

i would not worry about that score, it may just be a setting on 3dmark that is slowing down your lappy, or the driver is not fully compatible with it.

if you are experiencing good performance on other apps, such as games, then its just a problem with 3dmark, but if all your 3d apps are slow you may want to look for other drivers, im using the 178.24 ( as suggested by someone here at NBR) and its the best one ive used.

    Best of luck!

Thanks alot for the quick repyes :) - This is a great forum, I`ve learned so much from reading threads

I updated the vista score and it shows 4.5 - 5.4 for 3d and business
I cant test any games through remote thy run very slow I get 1024x768 on mainstream in Crysis 12fps. But this is through remote and fps is monitored with fraps. As for the drivers they came with the vista, so do you think they could be bad ??? After all they came from Dell

    well you can try this:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21216

its a vista 32bit version of the 178.24 driver, download, extract, and then download the moded inf. and put it into the extracted folder, when asked to replace actual file say yes, run the setup and Voila! new driver :D
    see if that helps.

by the way, that site has all the nvidia drivers, its very useful, but be careful, some can be real buggy.

Well, they will provide a performance boost, since they are newer than the ones that originally came with your laptop.

The modded .inf file is simply a modification that makes the driver compatible with all the Nvidia graphics cards, this will not affect the clocks or the performance of your GPU, its simply a wider database :D

Cheers boricha, and if you have any more questions, dont hesitate to ask :D
