    Hi

Just recived my new xps and there are a few questions/ problems I have.

    1. The built in speakers seem very quite and tinny
    2. There seems to be a lot of bleed coming from the back light at the bottom of the screen.

    Are these 2 things normal?

But I must say I can't complain about the delivery order to here is a week.

    Hi,
Yes, the speakers are *tiny sounding* but I don't have an issue with that ;) :)

My screen is awesome for me ;) :)

If you have a problem with the *bleed*, coming from the back light of the screen ~ you may want to call Dell, and either have them replace or fix..since you just received your 1530. Will this be a future annoyance for you??? ;) :)

That is the question you want to ask yourself. ;) :)

    Great delivery time BTW.. ;)

    And, congrat's on your new 1530!!!! ;) :D

    Hello Richard,
I have exactly the same problem with my new xps1530, there is too much light at the bottom of the screen, and the top is way too dark by comparison. My resolution is 1280x800. It is really bad and annoying, I am almost decided to return the laptop. I have already returned a sony laptop (more expensive)for this same reason but this dell screen is even worse. I am desperate, all the modern screens have this issue with a too light bottom? I mean even the Vista black bar at the bottom is not black but gray.

You do realize that the Vista taskbar changes color based on the background underneath it right? It's somewhat transparent.

Put your screen on something as close to a solid color as you can get and look at your screen from about 160 degrees to the left or right. You should pretty easily be able to see bleed (if any) then.

    Thanks for responses guys.
I have the transparency feature in vista turned off. My taskbar does not change with background. If I keep this computer vista will probably go anyway.

Yes, the light coming from the bottom is most visible when there is a solid dark color displayed.

With my old laptop, or any other laptop for that matter, I have to adjust the vertical angle in order to see uniform lightning on the screen, which is normal. But with this new xps it is simply impossible, the bottom is always lighter.

Request a new screen because yours has excessive bleed.
