very much interested in buying this laptop. I'll be doing alot of travelling to Europe next year and possibly staying for a year. My question is what is the power source for this laptop. Is it (100V-240V)? meaning does it have a switch you can flick between the two? TIA

No its not switchable. You can buy an adapter to do that.

Yes, it will work (or at least I was told by a Dell rep that it would work 100V-240V). You'll just need the European plug for it.

in other words i dont need a converter? So let me get this straight, most AC adapters (the big brick box) accept voltage from 100-240v (see pic below) and all i need is the two prong plug/adapter that goes into the wall?

Right, you can plug your XPS M1530's AC adapter into the wall in most countries, assuming you have the right plug adapter (round prongs, big honking British plug, etc). I asked this exact question on a chat with a Dell rep last week. You might want to ask again, as sometimes the reps are 'uninformed'.
