You are likely having driver latency spikes. Download DPC Latency Checker and run it and see what latencies you are experiencing.
If you see big red spikes then one of your drivers is misbehaving and causing the drop outs. Disabling devices in Device Manager and then checking with DPC Latency Checker can give you an idea of which driver is causing the problem. Prime candidate is your wireless driver (if you are using a Dell Wirless card then download the latest driver on the Dell site which addresses this issue) but others seem to have problems with optical drives, the Intel Matrix Storage Manager amongst others.
If you do a search on this site for DPC Latency you'll see a few threads on the subject.

I think SteveJonesy is right on. This is very likely to be DPC spikes, and they will be through the roof (worse than 15,000 microseconds) each time when the audio stutters. Also as he pointed out the most likely offender will be the wireless card.

RATTV3 will be an invaluable tool if you have to pinpoint which driver is guilty. But I think this one will be easy. Just do as SteveJonesy says and disable the wireless in Device Manager, or even better just use the wi-fi switch on the side of the M1530 and turn it to the off position.
