    problem with quickset and media direct?

    Ok well when ever I try to open media direct on my m1730 it is just a blank screeen and when I try to open the the quickset the only option thats shows up is the mobile tasks one so I cannot change my lights or anything how do I fix this? :confused: :confused:

    Go to the Dell website and download them again, you can also change the lights in the BIOS.

    You may have to reinstall the media direct it may not have installed correctly. Also same with the quickset I went to their website and downloaded the quickset and reinstalled it and my is working good.

    can you link me to the downloads I cannot find them? so you had the same problems to? Also can you look on the silver chasis part of the laptop and see if on the right side there is a bump that sticks up and you can like push it down but it wont stay.

    dell.com go to the support and downloads, you can either put in your model number or your service tag and it will take you to the downloads for your system. For the bump are you talking about the part above the keyboard? I had that on the 1st M1730 that I had and they replaced the hinge cover as mine wouldn't stay down either.

    wait is the media direct on a black cd ? I might try installing it. BTw did the guy come to you to get it fixed or did you have to send it in.

    Call Dell and have them send you a new media direct cd, I couldn't find it on the download page

    The tech came to my place I have next business day onsite warranty. Yes the media direct is on a black cd and should only have that program on there.
