So, i've had my sxps for 1.5 days and so far i can't complain. I haven't felt any excessive heat, but it certainly gets quite warm like most people have mentioned.
Whenever people are posting there hardware temps, i see CPUID... is that the program of choice then?
What are some good programs to monitor system temperatures?
Thanks,
-

CPUID is for CPU. HWMonitor monitors all temperatures, which is slightly more useful. It's made by the same people as CPUID =-)
Also there's Everest Ultimate Edition too. HWMonitor is what I prefer however. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I'll third HWMonitor. It's comprehensive, lightweight, and free. What else could you want?

Thanks guys! That's just what i needed to know... HWMonitor it is then

I prefer CoreTemp over HWMonitor, at least when monitoring CPU temperature on my SXPS1640 (P8600). They report different CPU temperatures. CPU temps reported by CoreTemp (and Everest) are exactly 5C higher than those reported by HWMonitor. I believe CoreTemp is more accurate here.

But CoreTemp is consistent with CPUGenie (my choice of CPU undervolting tool).
Well, if RMClock/HWMonitor is the accurate one, then good! The lower the temp, the better.I believe CoreTemp and Everest and CPUGenie more because those three are more recently updated than HWMonitor/RMClock IINM.
Though I would really be interested to know if anyone can confirm conclusively which tool/software is reporting the actual temps of the CPU cores. -
I don't understand how they have different temperatures either. I kinda assumed they would read the same thing, I dunno how they come to two different conclusions =-P -
I did some googling, and got this answer:
-
SIW http://www.gtopala.com/siw-hardware/sensors.html AND Everest Ultimate Edition
-
I like speedfan.......

Thanks! thats a great tool! -
HWmonitor has been updated a couple of weeks ago or something (november 3 to be exact) and it's the only one that ever showed the same temps for GPU as nvidia systemtools.
And it's small/lightweight indeed.
