    hello i am a college student and i was wondering if i should purchase the dell xps 1530 now. Gaming is a priority to me and i was wondering if i should put off buying it right now even though it is so cheap. I dont need my computer till the 1st week of October and i was wondering if the new line of XPS hopefully with a
    9*** series card will be much better and only a little bit more expensive. so in conclusion should i wait or buy now and is october too soon to wait.

    I would wait montevina was launch about a month ago so I would expect a refresh fairly soon...

    waiting myself to see if they do anything
    latest offers end on the 27th so may be releasing something then
    last time the offers ended they brought out the new Latitudes
    some talk that they might kill off the seperate XPS lines and add it on to the studio line

    otherwise I think I'll end up with a HP dv7t
    will be looking to make a decision in a couple of weeks

    Not sure how soon they will update although I read some article they would make a lot more laptops in the next year then they did before, although i'm not sure what they will do with XPS. I ordered mine yesterday for school (I get it 2 days after school starts which is when I will need it since we don't do anything first 2 days of school anyways).

    Hey thar! You, know it really depends on how badly you want the 1530...now or later. :cool:

    If, you purchase now..there are some really fantastic deals going on! ;)

    If you wait til October there will probably be new releases out....But, beware that things are steadily changing with the XPS line. ;) :)

    Technology / great deals are always changing ;) : So, you don't order now and wait til later. You may have lost out on great specs on a lappy, and great pricing! You wait til later...chances are you may have a better built lappy with great-or-not-so-great pricing! ;) :)

    The other thing to keep in mind that you should be prepared to *order ahead* ~ of what the target date is that you want to have your future lappy in your hands....Shipping has been either really quick - or just a *hold steady* on the 1530's ;) :)

    In the end, that final choice or ordering now or later is yours! ;) :)

    Well the 1530 is a sweet rig and all, but personally if gaming is a priority then you may wanna look at the fx 7811 from gateway as its decently priced compared to a 1530 and will game better. the only downfall is that it is a 17in laptop so its not the most mobile solution. But then again it does have the new intel monteviana. The 1530 is no slouch, but remember it is last years model.
