    Hi all,

My VGA adapter is causing my monitors to "flicker" on grays and gradient-based colours, and it's starting to cause me eyestrain, especially when the background borders of a window are that "standard" MS Windows gray colour. This isn't the case on my WLED panel, just my external monitors via VGA cable. When i use HDMI, I don't have this issue either.

I want to try using a DisplayPort to DVI adapter to see if this alleviates my problem. Will this adapter

    StarTech DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter

be good enough? I have no experience with DisplayPort other than hooking up those annoying miniDisplayPort to DVI adapters for Macbooks. Just want ot make sure this adapter I am looking at buying will be compatible. It claims to be a passive adapter that requires a DP++ port. However, our 1645's don't have the DP++ logo beside the actual port itself. Will it still work, but just not be able to pass through HDMI and DVI signals?
