this is a pretty stupid question but i have always wondered and i always care abuout small things like this. which processors in the m1330 options come with the intel sticker that says centrino with the purple on the back. some of the other stickers i have seen is just the regular core 2 duo one. which processor should i get to get the sticker that has the purple on it with centrino.
thanks
sorry for asking such a stupid question

I think you have to get the intel wireless card for the centrino sticker. I know Intel says that pairing an intel wireless card with an intel mobile processor constitutes a centrino platform
-
thanks!! anybody else know anything about this?
-
its exactly what whamerman said. centrino is a marketing campaign by microsoft.
if you are really interested in it, i think you have to opt for an intel pro wireless (IPW) network card. -
All mobile intel processors paired with an intel wireless card will get you the sticker. It's a huge gimmick by Intel
For example, for me, I didn't get a Centrino sticker because I got the Dell Wireless N card ( Because Dell Lied to me and told me they didn't have any Intel Wireless N Cards left). -
Yeah you get the Core 2 Duo if you just get the processor. The Centrino sticker comes with CPU and wireless combos.

Centrino requires 3 Intel components: the processor, the chipset and the wireless card. Absent any one or more and the laptop may not be referred to as Centrino.
So, since the M133O uses an Intel Core 2 Duo and the Intel PM965 or GM965 chipset, the third and final variable is the wireless card, which is where you have a choice - use the Intel 3945 (a/b/g) or 4965 (a/b/g/n) card and your laptop is a Centrino, or save money and buy the Dell card, in which case Dell can put a "Core 2 Duo" sticker on, but not a Centrino one. -
I didn't know any of that, pretty interesting. Does this apply to all the laptops? I got all 3 on my M1530 so I'm just curious.

Sweet, I always thought the Centrino sticker looked a little nicer than the Duo one.
-
LOL your's came with a Core 2 Duo and a Centrino sticker?
-
I thought he meant he has the three components of Centrino.
-
Be careful not to remove ANY stickers from you're laptops! They're load bearing stickers and removal may cause your laptop to collapse!
-
-
Everyone knows that stickers and LED lights add to your overall system performance.
-
there is also a tiny microchip on the back of the sticker that comes in contact with a sensor on the laptops casing. As soon as the sticker is removed, the sensor tells the system that it is no longer an intel centrino system. But it does not know which component was removed (chipset, processor, wireless) so it disables your system. Good luck getting that microchip realligned to get it working again to. It's a real pain.
Unless your a pro like me -
I actually bought a new Core 2 Duo sticker to put on top of the Centrino sticker... I think the Duo sticker looks better.
question about the intel sticker
