-2Gb DDR2 ram ---Can be upgraded to 4 gb for about 65$---
    -160GB High-speed SATA Hard-Drive ---great for gamin---
-CD/DVD-RW ---Can be upgraded to an integration Blu-Ray-RW for 200$ (on ebay)---
    -17" WUXGA Screen (1920x1200) ---FULL 1080P High-def!----

He want to trade it with 200$ from me

My question is, would it be smart to change my vostro for this xps with almost the same configuration other than the hard drive speed and the graphic cards ??

The Vostro is newer, has more advanced technologies, and the graphics card is fairly close in performance to the 7900GS. That XPS is older, has less warranty, and honestly electronics depreciate much faster than that guy wants to believe.

It is not a good deal for you.

Eh, I'd say stick with your Vostro. It's true that the M1710 has the T6700G, but unless he had the 7950GTX video card you're not going to notice much of a performance difference... especially with games. I will say, however, that with the 7950 GTX that 1710 spec would outperform the lower-end 1730s... but unless you want to drop $400 on a video card right off, it's not going to be worth it.

Don't get me wrong... the 1710 is a very nice machine; I was looking at them but managed to find a 1730 in that price range... but as I'd see it the specs are a no-go.
