i was just browsing through the studio xps 13 configurations and i see that there is no option for a intel wireless card. does that mean that the studio xps 13 will not have the centrino 2 platform available?
-
it does not use the centrino 2 platform as the laptop itself is using an nvidia chipset, hence the 9400M graphics. the wifi card is a rebadged one from broadcom or something
-
i know that the video card does not matter because i have a laptop with p8400, wifi link 5100 and 9200m gs and i still have a centrino 2 sticker
-
Centrino 2 is being phased out by Intel. It is now only Core 2, Core 2 Quad, Core i7, i5, and i3. Honestly, all Centrino 2 ever was is an intel made processor, graphics chip, and wireless card in the same notebook. But to answer your question, no, XPS does not use Centrino 2, and I myself am glad they don't.

yes, but too bad that we cannot use an Intel 5300 wireless card

I dont understand... who cares about the dang wireless card?

i too wonder why the intel 5300 is so important; in i have a dell 1515, and a dell 1510 ... one in each of my sxps 13's .. one is a broadcom, one an atheros chipset; they both work great for g/n wireless
question about xps 13
