    ribbon cable won't go back in.

    sorry guys if this sounds stupid but im pretty new to computers. i did a couple of things and ended up disconnecting the ribbon cable that connects the control panel lid for the xps m1530. I disconnected the end that's not on the lid, but is in the laptop because the other end was glued to the control panel lid. now i can't seem to reconnect the ribbon cable. I'm sure there's some way to do it that i just haven't realized but there's nothing really to hold the cable in like the ribbon cable for the keyboard with the buckle. I just keep inserting the cable into that socket but it's not secure at all. help please!

    You need to gently pull the top part of the connector up, insert cable, and then put the top part back down.

    i tried to pull up the top part but it wouldnt come up. are there two types of ribbon cables?
