I got the 9-cell battery for my lappy but i havent really been using the battery too much lately. I dont want to ruin it leaving my laptop plugged in all the time...so is it alright to just charge the battery fully, take it out, and just run the laptop without it?

Yes, that's perfectly fine. Although, if you aren't going to use the battery for a prolonged amount of time, I would take things one step further. Store the battery in a cooler location (e.g. refrigerator) at 40% charge for the longest lifespan.

To below: Right, I forgot that the 1530 is a bit different with it's battery. So yeah, you might have to find something to slot under the laptop in order to balance it out.

if you take the battery out, you might have to find a replacement for the rubber foot rests, since the 9 cell has the footrests instead of on the base of the laptop.. hence without the 9-cell there is a wobble... You might need to find something to keep under the laptop in place of the missing rubber foot rests..

alright thanks for the replies. How bad on the battery would it be if i just left it in my computer and always left it plugged in? Would it ruin the battery?

ah one year....: ( hahaha i was hoping to get more than that. I might just leave it out. I ordered this laptop for school with the 9-cell with plans of taking it to class. It doesnt seem like many people take their laptops to class though this year. I plan on possibly using it in the future and taking it to class maybe second semister or next year though. Ill try putting it in the refrigerator to make it last longer. When i take it out of the fridge should i let it warm to room temperature before using it again though?

It'll likely last more than a year, more like 2 to 3 (albeit with a slowly decreasing capacity). Yes, you should let it warm up before using it again.
