I get about 2.5-4 hrs with the 9-Cell Battery depending on what I am doing with it.
What do you do with it while on battery? If you are gaming, the poor life would not be surprisingly.

    What are your specs ?
If you have the 720m and 820m processors, then I wouldn't be surprised about the low battery life.

Regarding the battery. I left it turned off (the battery was fully charged), and the adapter unplugged...in the morning (after 7 hours) when i turned it on and plugged the adapter, i notice that it was power only 95%, 5% drained by itself? I have 9-Cell Battery.
    Anyone had this problem?

If by "turned off" you mean sleep mode then your computer's battery is fine since sleep still uses some power.

It happens when the battery is weak. The same used to happen with my HP earlier, if your laptop is still under warranty, ask dell to replace it for you. Also, to be sure use HWMonitor and compare the designed capacity of battery with Fully charged capacity. If there is a huge difference, its clear the battery is weak.

I got the 720qm CPU and RGBLED screen and when i just take notes on it with power saver enabled i get around 3-3.5 hours of battery life. Pretty good to me and serves my purposes (I'm not taking notes all day)

The battery operates under a different warranty than the rest of the laptop. It's warranty only lasts one year.

i can confirm this on my dell. Not to much of an issue however. I wonder what is running that is causing the battery to drain tho?

On Balanced with low-workload (browsing, non-HD movie, word processing) and Windows 7, I get 4-5 hours with 9-cell and 2-3 with 6-cell.

I have the sameish specs as Fred (W7Ult / i7 820QM / 4Gb RAM / 160Gb X25 G2 SSD / RGBLED / 9-Cell), but much lower battery life. I find that with Dell Extended Battery Life (with all options ticked), with Wifi off, lowest brightness (still very bright), power-saver mode, no DVD/video/audio, just editing word documents, no other programs open, I get a projected life of 3 hours, never more, 2 with real usage. If however I disable the screen and I use an external monitor, that life jumps up to 6-7 hours. Can hardly believe the screen uses so much power! Any tips to extend battery life?

Also, anyone else noticed that their battery capacity is underreported? Using CPUID Hardware Monitor, the "Designed Capacity" of the battery is 7800mWh, and the "Full Charged Capacity" is 7358mWh... did they forget a 0? Could someone verify that this happens on theirs?

I just got my battery replaced about a month back and I got a replacement Panasonic 9-Cell battery..

Today I saw its weared off 12%. I am so worried. The wearing off of battery issue with SXPS is completely because of heat!

I will post some links here to help soon.

really depends on what i do, but pretty loaded, yeah about that much.

even though xps is a premium line for dell, the batteries actaully are not high quality.. its some cheap cell from asia and built there... so dont expect anything big time
