I can use 780core/930memory safely, max temps of 82C. Note this is with AS5 thermal paste and a laptop cooler

Hmm im asuming if you fried your computer while overclocked, or with the overclocking software(rivertuner) on your system when it fries, then when you send it in/get it repaired then they could tell. If you completely uninstal rivertuner before sending it in for repairs or what not then I dont think they would be able to tell

Thanks, assume you did that with 1920x1080 with MSAA set to none?

I've got the RGB, 720 and 6GB (also using 10.3 Beta) and I'm getting 1094 with those settings (post fx=on) .. quite a bit less.

edit: to see the effect with lower Multi, I used throttlestop to limit it to 8 and the score dropped only by 10-15 points between various runs. 820s have more cache so I wonder if that has anything to do with 100 points more you're getting.

edit2: removed ATI and then ran driver-sweeper and then ccleaner to remove all of it. Installed the Dell drivers provided on 24/2 (8.692.1.0) and the score dropped to 952.

Everytime I try to overclock the GPU with my laptop it locks up using RivaTune...it worked before, hmmm...oh well. After applying Arctic Silver 5 my temps barely get out of the 60's when gaming for a few hours. Highest they got was 75 with a cheapo cooling pad.

I'd like to clock it up some to get some added performance, but I guess I can't do that.

The only safe setting is to not overclock the card yourself. The 4670 is already an overclocked version of the 4650. If you're going to overclock, make sure you understand the risks.

My overclocked settings are 752/940 on my 1640. My temps never get too hi as long as it is on a flat surface like a table. I played Modern warfare 2 at 1080p for hours and it wasn't too hot.

It might be unsafe but does not void the warranty as it is not a physical mod

Ran Furmark today to test max temps. Seems the best OC i can get (ambient temps of 27 C) is 690/880, with max temp of 84 C. Any higher than 690 causes max temps to hit 86, which i find a bit high.

Im using stock paste and no cooler. Does your OC produce artifacts in games?

and what is your ambient temperature?

EDIT: I tried 2 OCs, one 740/920 ATITool artifacted like hell and crashed a few seconds later. I could not attain your OC of 780/940 because it already crashed. So how do you even OC to such levels...

Im not sure, im using AS5, and use a laptop cooler if its warm, current ambient temp about 23C. I dont know but I may be able to achieve higher clocks due to my i7 or due to to my RAM running at 1333Hz. Do you have a RGBLED or WLED as that may play a part too. These are just guesses

    note im using rivertuner 2.24

Ambient of 23 is cold indeed. Don't think it has to do with the i7 or RAM. I have WLED and Rivatuner 2.24 MSI Master OClocking Area 2009 Edition. I will try crank up the air-conditioning and OC again. Although that will be purely for show, because i cannot survive in such temperatures :)

I run mine at 750 / 950 stable, temps never go above 70c. I have replaced my thermal paste with arctic silver though.

I did notice that my previous GPU could not be overclocked as high as the one I have now (dell replaced the motherboard and with it the graphics card). Maybe it varies from card to card? Just a guess.

yeah i know. 23 is very cold for me :) i think killaz05 is right, that OCing ability varies from card to card. Same like CPUs.

Running 775/875 on my 1640. Seems fine. Temps of low 80's and I believe the maximum it can withstain is 100 or 110.

Tried 800/900 but it froze Assassin's Creed... I assume due to the overclock as that has never happened.
