i like having my m1530 on my lap (unplugged) in the living room while i watch tv/babysit so far i can only make it last 2 hours at the most(surfing the web, messengers) with the brightness 30% and powersaver mode.
well i was reading on the thread on how to underclock your cpu...theres a problem with that:
-numero first im too lazy (hurts my head when i try to understand the thread, hence the "[ADVANCE]" on the title ^^")![]()
-numero dos having a t5450 on power saver mode (50% max perfomance) is slow enough... so i tried to look for a better solution and found this...
http://www.codeplex.com/vistabattery
i think its great...my battery up to 2 hours and 20-ish minutes.
i think vista users should give it a try![]()
edit: almost forgot i have a 6 cell ^^ just for people wondering
-
THANKS!
it will come in handy amigo! -
i mean its not gonna add 2 hours but battery saved is battery saved
-

Sweet.
I'm giving this a whirl today to see what happens. -
the setup might hang and this is because the software automatically runs when your installing it...so to fix the hang just go to your taskbar and exit the program then rerun after the installation is finished.
hope you guys find this software useful -
Well, I have been using this ever since I got this laptop, and for one, it didn't hang or anything. Don't know if its something specific to your situation.
But yeah, this is a good program. It has been around for a long time now, and has long been suggested / recommended by Gary & Les (Check Les' sticky in the Windows OS section). People who would have seen Les' _Vista Tips Sticky could not have missed this.
There is also an alternative, called Aerofoil. -
the installation hang is because of the new release...i dont know how longa ago you have had your laptop but theres a new release of it.
-
Well, I have this laptop since June '08, and I have the new release of Vista Battery Saver too. I didn't have any issues.
-
quite alot of people had the problem...so i was posting just incase its not like its gonna do any harm posting what to do when it does hang
-
Uh oh! I didn't say you posting that info was causing any harm. I just said I didn't face any issues while installing it, and was just guessing / thinking may be its specific to some scenario!! Thats all. Cheers.
save battery life!!!
