    Hi,

I bought mine almost 2 months ago, and never had any screen flickering until 3 days ago. I reinstall all drivers; it wasn't fixed. I did a clean install; the problem has not yet gone away.

In this period, I ve seen that only if intel 530 driver is uninstalled, I can get rid of screen flickering. More interestingly, the flickering does t appear on system windows such as any files inside, windows showing system files etc.. I attached a few snapshots including appearing or non-appearing conditions.

If you can help me to solve this upsetting issue, I would appreciate a lot.

    I follow it and got this pop-up menu below, is your file based on 32-bit or 64- bit?;

    Hi there,
I think this is not the answer you have hoped for, but this screen flickering might not be a driver problem. Driver problems with older graphic cards have been reported when people upgrade their OS to Windows 10 (like this: https://communities.intel.com/thread/96254). Since you bought your laptop only 2 months ago, is it not likely that you have an old graphics driver or outdated graphics card. Your laptop probably came originally with Windows 10.

This problem may have to do with the laptop screen. It may be the display itself, the display cable, or it might have to do with the cable connector. I've seen this on my work allot.

Because the laptop is still almost new, I would recommend you should make a backup of all your data and register your laptop for warranty or RMA. When you have done a warranty or RMA request and have shipped your laptop for warranty, it normally takes two weeks before you get your laptop back.

That's why attached a few pictures to understand problem. When I open a window such as the folder of downloaded files, there is no issue. Flickering only happen when I open edge browser, start menu, watching a video, surfing, word documents etc. On the other hand, my keyboard seems to be responding so slow to my typing.

Moreover, I uninstalled the driver of intel 530, it seemed to be fixed, but the laptop suffered from low quality rendering the graphics. The symptoms happened three days ago. The laptop is outlet product. Can you give me steps about How to deal with claiming a replacement? (by the way, I am living in the UK)

I'm glad it seems like that the laptop has been fixed. Because you live in the UK, (and assuming that you have made the purchase within the EU) you fall under the European legislation (still though :)). In the EU, every consumer is entitled to a warranty period of 2 years.

    Read online: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/shopping/guarantees-returns/index_en.htm

By entering the service tag on this site: http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukdhs1/products/?app=warranty you can see if the laptop is still under warranty, although the Dell service tag checker does not know the date of purchase on the invoice.

You can use Dell's technical support. They can create a warranty request for your device. Important for a warranty claim is the invoice. Dell will ask you for the date of the invoice and a copy of the invoice.

You have to select the inf file named igdlh64.inf in \Beta_15.40.23.64.4444\Graphics instead of the autorun.inf I think

Curious why you have to manually install the driver? Mine installed fine with the supplied installer.

Yes, you are completely right. Finally, I can install the driver.. thanks

but, nothing has changed... I am utterly dissapointed.... it had come to me a software issue. now IMO problem arises from hardware.

You get an error message saying that you have to get the driver from the manufacturer's website if you already have a dell driver installed.

I would contact dell and hear what they have to say about it :/

What he said, those with the Dell driver cannot install any other unless manually forced,

Not seen that before so phone em up, looks like you're getting a motherboard replacement.

MAKE SURE you ask Dell if the engineer is competent enough to replace the board and update your service tag as it seems they are not. From history they are a bunch of bodge artists who get out the door as fast as possible. The wrong service tag will affect resale value. I would be the 1t thing I ask a Dell engineer on arrival as they seem to show up with a 2nd hand board with no reset performed.

Many thanks for your informative advise.

I contacted via e-mail, and am waiting for respond. By the way, i installed your uk-based iso file. but nothing changed. It is definitely hardware problem related somehow to dedicated graphic card. Sorry to say that i could not catch your point about updating service tag. can you give me a bit more information about it to understand?

The service tag printed inside the flap on the bottom on the case is also in the BIOS and needs setting when the boards swapped.

today, a technician came and fixed it replacing the mainboard with a new one. Hence, so far so good... it seems ok...

The thing is, I checked bios version and date of manufacturing, they are quite old, 01.00.05 and 14/10/2015 .

Go into the bios and check the service tag a they may have screwed you over with a used board in a new laptop.

He input my service tag into a basic pop-up menu appearing in the first boot after placing the board.

Yay for Dell sending out a reset or new board :D

After you have basically been sent scrap parts before you get very dubious of anything they want to use in repairs!
