    i have some parts i will be replacing and rather than go in blind (i can if i have to) it would be a lot easier to go in with the manual. can someone post it up for me format doesn't matter or link me to it..

    Yeah, Dell has service manuals for every laptop on their support site. Alternatively, you can register for a free account on Dell's DCSE website that has much better manuals with exploded views and specs, etc. It is limited to certain systems, though the 1730 is on there.

    have to change the lcd housing since mine came in cracked on the wings and near the dell logo. sucks since i bought it from someone there is nothing i can do.. i had to buy the parts
