    hey guys i just recieved my beautiful xps 1645 only prob i have is i had bought a firewire card for my audio interface befor i got the laptop and now it wont fit. It states on the dell site that it has a 54mm express card slot so i bought one but it only goes in half way can anyone tell me if i actually need a 34mm firewire card for this laptop

    Are you sure you bought an express card and not a PC card(which is the older tech)?

    no its definetely a notebook box says firewire dual port cardbus easily upgrade your notebook computer to firewire connectivity its a siig nn-pcm222 ill try find the link for ya

    Did you look at my link.

    That is clearly a PC card (cardbus, PCMCIA...). It's an older card. Not an express card at all.

    Sorry mate, but you need to buy a new card...

    ah crap anyway i just seen it was 54mm and thought it would a bit misleading. so it is a 54mm express card i need im looking for one with a ti chipset any recommendations man?
