I can't imagine that someone would do that......Well, I guess you never know. I think I have to much faith that people stay out things that are not theirs to begin with.
You could always call, I think and see where or what the status is on your XPSIf that helps.

But, if you changed out your password on that..you should be fine!
Are there any other account user name/passwords, you can also change?

I always remove the hard drive before sending a system in for repairs. I don't even trust myself with the hard drive, let alone a shipping company or a Dell tech.

The first time I did this over an LCD issue a few years ago, they called me and said they couldn't perform service because the hard drive was missing. All you need to say is:
1. Put it in writing that you cannot perform LCD service because the hard drive is missing.
2. Put it in writing that you do not have a spare hard drive to insert into my system for testing purposes.
3. If you absolutely require my hard drive, please send me $60,000 as insurance because the information on there is extremely valuable. Once you return my hard drive and nothing is missing I will return the funds.
You catch the drift? Don't tell them they don't need the hard drive, just ask for it in writing because they are not allowed to do that, it violates the service agreement. If they give you a hard time, say sure I'll send it in, just give me a security deposit. As long as you're not saying "no I'm not sending it" you haven't violated any terms. This was a few years ago, I haven't had that problem since. -
i like it, i like it !! ^^

As others have mentioned, always remove hard drive when sending your laptop for repairs.
Before owning Dell, I had Lenovo Thinkpad. At the time when I had to service it, there was a big red label on the box: "remove hard drive and any other personal information before sending your unit for service". Not sure why Dell doesn't do it... -

Jb1007 very good advice.
From my previous experience with Dell, they have been respectful of private and confidential data. -

I'm sure nothing bad is going to happen to your lappy!

if you can proove the time it left you, and the time it arrived at dell, the event logs on the laptop can show if it has been turned on... -
Glad it all worked out for you!
So, all is working properly?
