    sound card for studio xps 16?

    does anyone know what type of interegrated sound card the SXPS16 has and if its possible to upgrade to an after market one??

    i also would like to know if the integrated sound does 5.1 for movies and if they are good or not.

    You can't upgrade the sound card on any notebook as far as I know. You might be able to purchase an add-in card that uses USB or the ExpressCard slot. But you cannot upgrade the internal one.

    Check manufacturer specs regarding what formats of sound it supports.

    Processing power is at the point where most laptops have gone to software based sound cards/processing. The only reason for external/upgrade is to have dedicated and cleaner output or for professional applications.
