    Hi,

I was trying to upgrade my pm951 256 gb in my xps15 9550 to a samsung 960 evo.

I can't seem to get the windows media usb stick to detect the samsung drive. I tried installing intel drivers. The usb stick does not recognise the dell drivers (exe files) I downloaded.

Do I need to run those exe files on another PC to extract the drivers?

To make matters worse, I think I stripped the torx screws when I was putting back the cover and now I can't unscrew them....

When I get into bios, all I see for the drives section is
    1) Samsung
    2) toshiba 15gb plus model number

I am supposed to see the name 960 evo in the bios? I am not sure if I plugged in the drive fully... now I can't take out the cover...sigh.....

    any help is appreciated.

Yes, you need to extract the intel drivers

I did extract the intel drivers f6flpy-x64.zip but those did not work. I still can't read the evo960.

Is there another driver I can try?

I am worried that I did not push the evo 960 hard enough into the slot. The bios just read "samsung" , not sure if the drive is physically installed properly.... unfortunately I can no longer remove the cover.

I downloaded your iso but it still can’t detect my drive. It asked to load driver....

I watched an installation video and I think I did not slide the ssd deep enough..

Did you try resetting the BIOS?
It is odd as you shouldn't be able to screw the drive down if it isn't in but reseating will tell you that.
Try to use a screw removal method, using a thin strip of rubber over the screwdriver or a drop of superglue?
worst case is to drill or dremel the head off.

Buy a decent screwdriver as well.

Speaking of which, don't you have one that you recommend? I was trying to dig it up in an old post the other day and couldn't find it...
