I play CS:Source at 1366 x 768 full settings on everything and still average around 90-100 fps.

GTA San Andreas, full everything in Widescreen. Runs absolutely perfect.

So far that's all I've played extensively. I tried Crysis, but even at the lowest settings it was unplayable for me.

I don't think its fair to use Crysis as a benchmark for any laptops gaming ability. Sure, its a graphically heavy game, but we already know this!

I have surfed around a few forums with people asking about laptop gaming capability and all I ever hear is "ZOMG TEH XPS16 CANT EVEN PLAY CRYSIS!!!1!!"

I think that expecting every high range laptop to play Crysis on max res and max settings is a bit silly. I am impressed Laptops around £1000 can play things like CSS on max with full settings, let alone any new games! :)

Am I being stupid and naive in saying this?

    Nope, not at all.

I added it because it will get asked and has. Some people can run it, some can't. I don't know how, but it was absolutely unplayable for me, as I expected. CSS is a blast on this thing and looks amazing, even on my "crappy" 720p display.

True, Crysis is an extremely taxing game. My desktop with an 8800 GTX even struggles with the game using high settings so I wouldn't expect a laptop with a mid to low range GPU to run it. But games like fallout 3 are out there now in greater numbers and they do tax a GPU a lot. I think given the price point of the SXPS 16, it's not unreasonable to expect it to run those games with at least medium setting and native resolution. I think this and much more will be possible with the new 4670 coming (something Dell should have included from the start). I'm also excited about the prospect of playing Street Fighter IV on my laptop using a 360 joystick :)

apparently the new gpu coming ouot will allow 20fps or so at 1280x1024 i think i cant remember the exact number but it was basically double what the 3670 can do just now

Yeah if you look up my post history, I put up two links from a website that compares the performance of the two GPU's (along with every other GPU available for laptops) and nearly every time the 4670 has twice the performance. It's very impressive given that it only consumes 5w more power.

yeh kimo thats what 5150joker was reffering to its a handy site indeed for comparing a few things ,

but in this thread i would prefer users input for a more realistic list and a wider list of what people are playing succesfully
