I will be installing Windows 7x64 this week on my laptop. Dell seems to not have much drivers or info for it on the support page....

Anyone know if I'm going to have trouble with the following:

    Bluetooth
    Creative X-Fi MB
    My Wifi for the 5300
    Dell Webcam Central
    Dell Support Center
    Fast Access

Any help would be appreciated! I'm hoping we have the same level of power setting options like we do in Vista...

    Creative X-Fi MB doesn't work.

All the rest work fine although I don't run Fast Access so I can't comment on that.

Fast Access working fine here (Windows 7 Enterprise x64).

Webcam Working fine, all that "other" software is available on Dell's web site. There's an option on the download page to get all that stuff at the bottom once you validate your account and computer has right to license it. You get upto 3 downloads per special program like that. For all this stuff you can use the equivelent Vista driver, the programs "Check for update feature," and going to the manufactures official web site for most. For example, go to intel.com for the WiFi 5300, that is if you don't get the Vista driver from Dell instead.

    That's it, you won't have a problem.

    https://smartsource.dell.com/web/main.aspx

It's called My Download Locker. It's found on the main driver page at the bottom, "Download software." and requires that you register an account and computer. It only lets you download the software so many times, you're allowed to back what you download up.

Other places for drivers: ati.com, intel.com (chipset, graphics, and wireless), broadcom.com..

I believe it should work since you can get it when you configure a 1645 with Windows 7. However, if you have Vista and are going to install Windows 7 can you get the X-Fi software easily? Through Dell SmartSource? I'm still waiting on my 1645 that should come with Vista.

I had to request the X-Fi install CD after I received my laptop. They did not send it voluntarily. Pretty poor if you ask me. I assume there will be an updated version for Windows 7.

I noticed the lack of Windows 7 drivers as well. I know for some things you can get them from the manufacturer (like Intel wireless) and others you can just use the Windows Vista drivers.

It took me 23 times to call until I got a person that knew what the hell they were talking about.

Just like today I was hung up on during 8 transfers when trying to inquire about the Windows 7 Upgrade package...

FastAccess fully supports Win7. FastAccess version 2.4.7 is required. For details on the upgrade process, please see the Win7 page on the Sensible Vision website.
