i've had this for over a year now, and more recently have been having some wifi issues
what seems to happen is that either my wifi drops out altogether (when i can prove connectivity with other devices on the wifi network) or the speed gets really really really slow
not sure why though
don't know how to troubleshoot (although i'm googling it at the moment)
i think its the wifi hardware rather then the laptop/notebook or my wifi connection, but dont know how to troubleshoot as i mentioned above
i did just change the 802.11n mode to disabled and it seems to work better, although i need more time to see if this is something that has had an impact (my wireless modem is n by the way)
the wifi i have is the dell 5300AGN
how can I best troubleshoot whats going on?

If you are under warranty you can call Dell and tell them your problem, I've had a similar problem with the same card before aswell.
Normally, the rep will take control of your laptop and try to fix your problem, if they can't then they will probably have the card replaced.
Otherwise, maybe someone on the forum can help you out. -
so far i havent had an issue after disabling n mode....so i'll see how it goes for a few days, but thanks for your reply, if it gets worse, i'll make a call to dell
