I've tried asking dell for a replacement laptop for my sxps 16 and they have said I am no eligible. What can I do about this?
this is what they told me:
-But system exchange is not an available option right now.
-As per the system warranty I can help you out with the part replacement.
-The warranty covers only part hardware replacement if there is any failure it does not cover complete system exchange.
any advice on what to tell them when I ask for one?
note: I have gotten the 2x LCD / right speaker / motherboard / HDD all replaced
thanks for the tips

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Is the issue that they won't give you a replacement desktop or that they won't give you any replacement at all? If you've had that many services done on the machine, you definitely have grounds to push for a replacement, but Dell's only going to offer you a comparable system. No way you're getting a desktop to replace a laptop.

Sorry I meant to say laptop lol. Haven't slept in 2 days now ~.~ oh the joys of finals week. but from what the person said it seems like only some of the replacements were on record
note: at the time of posting this I think I was reading your post on the other guy's thread where he asked for a desktop from them -
The main reason that I got my replacement was that Dell rep treated me very bad. They hung up my phone calls. They lied to me several times. They missed the appointment that I set up with them. They blame me for not answer my cell phone even though I gave them a time range to call me or I would be in class. And, they replaced more than 11 parts but I still got the problem.

I had a lock up issue that would only happen when my graphics card was being used but they could not fix it.
Replacing the laptops motherboard (gpu was built in) 2 times and all sorts of other attempted fixes did not work and my issue was still not fixed. I just kept calling and stating this issues is not fixed and instead of repeating repair steps please just get me a replacement laptop be firm follow up and above all DONT give up even if you have to call twice in the same day and talk to a diff rep.
Even though my system was obviously a clear manufacturers deffect it took me months of call backs technitian visits and asking for a supervisor (politely) a time or two before they agreed my system was not repairable and they agreed to a system replacemnt. I think sometimes they try to run out your patience and get you to run out your warranty time and give up on getting what the warranty should be required to cover.
Since I had been calling for over 3 months and was told so many diff things would fix it they even upgraded me to the next higher model I went from an L502X system with 540M video card to the L702X with the 550M video card not a huge upgrade but ask for them to give you an upgrade if you feel the service and time they have wasted with fixes that do not work are signifigant.
The warranty reads if dell technitians agree your system problem is not repairable they are required to provide a system exchange of AT LEAST equal parts... but you can always ask for better and see what you can get. -

i wouldnt force anything to look suspicious...
anyways, one rule is that u should never ask for a system replacement as they will never give you one. the only way u can get one is if they offer it to you so i would just wait and keep accepting the replacement parts...eventually they might give you a replacement. -
I don't think they will ever give you a replacement unless you ask for it. They will just keep replacing everything.... just like what happened to me

A supervisor came into the chat session and offered me a replacement machine from the Outlet that was "as good or better" than my current XPS-17 when I had my third display in four months go bad.
The only way to be better than my config would be to go 3D or the addition of a Blu-Ray or TV tuner. I was asked to decide right then, either new machine or dispatch a tech with a new display. Wasn't interested in any of those, so I just told them to send out the fourth display, which has been fine so far (since Sept).
In retrospect, had I been well versed in Alienware models, I may have tried for one of those. -
I've read other threads about flaunting lawsuits/ lemon laws/ etc. Is this advisable?
