I just got my XPS today and there is a white flicking line across the entire top length of the screen. Is this normal? Is a bezel or something supposed to be covering this?

It doesn't seem normal yet it is so glaringly obvious that I am hard pressed to see how it got past inspection like this. I already regret buying a Dell.

I have the 1340, my screen is similar to your picture. The screen is aparently in place with and adhesive type strip and snapped into place. That's just how the quality was designed, it will happen within time, I can almost guarantee that, and when it does you will slowly begin to notice hazing marks on your screen from it rubbing the keys when closed. Crappy poly carb and crappy attachment to frame.
