I have undervolt my processor which is T7250 to 0.9875v and has experience about 7-10 degree celcius drop in my processor. One thing that caught my attention plus put me into confusion and peculiarity is, my maximum GPU (8600GT GDDR3) temperature has drop by stunningly 7 degree celcius. But nothing is happy about that as my performance is sacrificed with it.

    My question would be:
    1. Is it normal that GPU performance will get affected with by the processor undervolting ?

    2. I just bought this laptop 4 months ago and is this regarding the nVidia card issue and my GPU starts to spoil ?

Undervolting doesnt have any effect on the graphics card... you are undervolting the processor your GPU will be untouched.

What makes you say that your performance has been affected anyway? have you noticed adverse effects whilst gaming?

What i might (and many others) suggest is to update your video card drivers, either from the dell support website, or laptopvideo2go. Also check that your power plan is set to high performance.

If you are still unhappy with the performance of your GPU, then you might consider overclocking it. The 8600m gt (i assume you have this card) is a great card to overclock, which requires little effort, and there are guides to do this, just use the search function.

    Hope this is helpful

The reason why the temperature is lower, the gpu and cpu share the same heat pipe.

Also just to clarify, jamaicanyouth is correct, the GPU temp. will be lower as it shares the same heat pipe as the CPU. sorry i didnt mention it before!

    hope youve got sorted :D
