hi today i done a bit of testing to try and update the realtek hd drivers of our dell l502x. Now i know you could always uninstall the dell realtek hd drivers and install the realtek hd drivers just over the top, but with that you lost the function of your waves touch sensitive button as it would fail to open your dell audio software. Now i have gotten mine updated but also kept the dell audio software function of the button.
Step 1. download the latest 2.67 realtek driver
Step 2. open the realtel 2.67 drivers exe with winrar
Step 3. create a new folder on your desktop called realtek hd drivers for example and drag the files from winrar here
Step 4. go to device manager and right click on your realtek hd card under the sound part in device manager
Step 5. select properties and then click driver and update driver after that
Step 6. click browse my computer for driver software
Step 7. then click the let me pick from a list of drivers on this computer option
Step 8. click on the have disk option
Step 9. browse for the realtek hd folder u extracted the files in winrar to
Step 10.open the vista64 folder inside the realtek folder and locate this file HDX861A.inf
Step 11. select it and then click ok and it will update your driver
Step 12. after seeing that your driver has installed restart your computer and your all set
hope this is clearer now for people to read and make sense off

Oh, man, did you never learn about sentences, periods or paragraphs?
-
well sorry for trying to help cant all be properly educated like others, but ill definately think twice before posting anything like this again, i guess thats what some people are like nowadays cant simply thank someone for a piece of info they have provided, they have to instead try and run them down instead and go completely off topic

Your information is appreciated. It's just that it's near impossible to read in its present form. Edit it, create proper sentences, paragraphs. Then your information will be able to read by more people.

well i have now edited my post to make it more readable, just didnt like the way you came across i was only looking to help ones out but feel you could of said it in a nicer way. But back on topic that is the method and hope it works as well for everyone as it has for me

Much better, useful. As for my comments, when I began using discussion groups I found that it's best to learn from experienced users, especially when their advice is aimed at helping people communicate better. Your post is now clearer and more likely to be used, so just accept the advice.

glad to of helped and its water under the bridge now

I don't even bother with the Realtek drivers because it causes my laptop to get much warmer even when idle. I just use the Microsoft HD Audio driver and it does let you tweak the sound better than the cruddy Realtek control panel.

update to latest realtek hd drivers and still keep dell audio function :)
