I have built lots and desktop PC's in my time, but know very little about laptops. I have a few year old Dell M170 XPS which is getting a little ragged. I thought I recalled when buying it that it had a dedicated graphics card which could be upgraded in the future. It currently has a 7800 GO (I think) in it with PCI-E interface.
So, are the newer nVidia M cards compatible? Also, I can hardly find laptop video cards for sale retail anywhere online.
If it is possible to upgrade, I'd love someone to just post a link for me.

If you have the 7800 Go, then you have the best graphics card you can get.
Dell makes their own video cards for their laptops, so you won't be able to find one for your M170 from a retail store. In addition, each Dell laptop model has its own graphics card design, so even though other Dell laptops have a 7950 Go or an 8800m, they won't fit in your laptop. -
Does Even m170 exist ???

Perfect answer, thanks. I know all laptops are destined to become doorstops at some point.
