just looking for software/firmware (if i need any) to support the OEM dell blu-ray burner for the m1730 as i just ordered one from an online store...

do blu-ray discs play natively in wmc ? vlc media player ?

just curious...i assume that vista will go to windows update to look for drivers when i install the new drive....not entirely sure. i looked on dell's web site and did not find blu-ray specific software for the m1730....

Can you not get the drivers from the Dell website?

no, the drivers are not there
i found that i had to buy 3rd party software to get playback support....
otherwise in windows the only things supported are burning for 25GB and 50GB discs....

i'd like to update the firmware, but dell doesn't have that either...
