I have never owned a laptop before buying my 1530 and I have to ask this, if I use it every day for work, school, and gaming - will this cause any problems? laptop life shortens? do you use it all the time? I am thinking of buying a desktop to replace this for everyday use. The vents being placed on the bottom of this laptop don't help much.. causing too much heat.

    Hey there!

I have the 1530, have had it for a year...And, I use it almost 24/7! I have had no issues whatsover. I power it down, when I am going to be away from it for *extended* periods of time.

What battery do you have for your 1530? I have both the 6 cell and 9 cell.
The 9 cell is fantastic...It's elevated in the back, thus allowing for some nice ventilation, and a bit of easier typing! :D

For me, I wouldn't purchase a desktop..unless I planned on no longer using my lappy ~ or needed a desktop for other uses.

That is one of the awesome things about the lappy, it's a great desktop replacement! It's reliable and doesn't hold you down to just *one location* :D

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

i also have a m1530 i have it running 24/7 even if i dont use it.... i have it with a cooler... but i also move it around, take it to a friends, college, move around the house.... i never ever turn it off... when im ot playing, doing homeowork, projects or just browsing or chatting... i leave it all night downloading things or converting videos, or just doing nothing... i m one o those people that believes that turning a computer on and off will kill it faster than just leaving it on.... of course things like ur screen... i close the lid, or set it to turn off in 15 minutes.. cause the screen being on all the time will reduce its brightness. i have a HP penium 3 with 128 ram, 15gb hard drive... from the year 2000.... and its still running today.. as a server, network bridge .... never turn it off.... computers will last longer if left on, of course watching temps.... doing maintenance to the fans... cleaning air vents.. u should be fine... things like lcd screen... battery.... u should take care of those, if not gonna be moving the laptop leave the battery in the freezer XD... im my experience things that fail, and fail if u dont take kare of them, are fans, batteries (this will fail), but electronics, like ur processor, motherboard, gpu and he hard drive being the most likely to fail, they are fine runnin 24/7.... got also a desktop runnig for 8 years.... never turn it off, when im gonna travel, or somethingg like that... otherwise never.... and still going strong... even the seagate hard drive..... 8 years of power on hours.. and still goin strong... also watch for electrical, voltages spikes... in electric network... and unusual temps in ur system... other than that i would say this machine have no problem running 24/7 .... any question u can PM me...

    JaV!

    And remember:

Paying some extra bucks for service usually pays off.. A notebook is bound to break sometime if you carry it around much...
