As it is an OEM license, you legally cannot install it on another PC. And you can never install the OS on more than one computer anyway, so you want to brake the rules twice :D.

UPDATE: Were you talking about just installing with the disc and using your own non-OEM key? THAT is okay.

The Dell CD might not work on other PCs, but I think it will install an unactivated copy.

It probably won't. I've tried to do this with previous Dell OEM OS CD's and always got a "sorry, non-Dell system" error. I even tried it a few years ago with an Office 2000 CD from Dell. No go. I suppose it does a BIOS check of some sort. If his other system is a Dell, then maybe it'll work.

But as you say, he can't legally use his OEM key on another system, so unless he has another key then it's a moot point.

You could run vlite and make a installation disc that way.

You can use a Dell OEM installation CD to install the relevant OS on any computer. It will behave like any other OEM installation CD. It will create an unactivated installation. You will have to provide your own key.
