So i am starting to regret going with the 15" and keep looking at netbooks but dont want to give up the internal drive and some other bells & whistles. I am thinkngaboutputting my M1530 on ebay in hopes that i will be able to recoupe a majority of my investment so I can apply it to either a 1330 or 1340. The specs are in my signature and I was just wondering what you guys think I might be able to get for it. Any helpful reply would be appreciated!

You should post this in the buy sell and trade forum and don't get a 1330XPS

1330 is old tech and has problems

you can find newer tech like the U330

Yea, it's old and has heating issues unless you want to do the copper mod. Unless you're on a budget.

I had the 1530, it was awesome. Then I picked up the 1340, and it's amazing. Contemplated the 1330 again, but the build quality is much better on the 1340 and everyone comments on how nice it looks :)

1340 is garbage. Returned it and held onto my 1330.

I just went through the same for my wife. She has the 1530 and is planning a trip aboard. We just had our first baby so carrying the 1530 with the diaper bag would be too much especially while travelling. I got her a mini 10v but we both were not pleased with the speed/responsiveness of the intel atom cpu. The 1gb ram also might have been the limiting factor but i did not want to spend all that time and energy disassembling just to upgrade the ram and then finding out it was the atom cpu. To make a long story short i just ordered a LED 1330 from the dell outlet. Since she does not care at all about games the x3100 will be just fine and might even help it remain cooler. It's supposed to arrive early next week so can't comment on how we like it. Reason for choosing the 1330 over the 1340 was the substantial weight difference. IMHO the 1340 is a step back from the weight perspective. Anyways both seem like solid machines aimed at slightly different audiences.

If you are going to carry it a lot, then get 1330 (and do a copper mod too). Otherwise, the newer, but heavier 1340.

The 1340 is a better machine all around, the only thing it loses out on is the weight but that is very minor. And if you take into consideration that the 8400 gpu is almost guaranteed to fail you I have no ideo why you would make such a claim. The intel gpu is fine as long as you don't need any graphics muscle other than flash and youtube.
