so i got my system with the sammy since i originally thought it would be better than the sharp.. so far very dissapointed. i have a bit of grainyness, 2 dead pixels, very dark bottom corners with the right side much worse than the left until you look straight one it stays very dark it goes away if you look directly head on on the right side at the bottom corner.. colors are pretty good and i have almost no light leak but overall the screen sucks, its not nearly as bright as i hoped it would be and even less bright than the dull one i had on my sager.. even at max brightness imo its about half what my 15" compal chi mei is maybe less.. that thing is awesome bright...the bottom dark corners are what annoy me the most they are not black but very shaded like and it reaches up and outward about 1"-1.5" about the task bar.. as i said its odd since it goes away when looking staright on at each corner??

i can easily get my hands on a nice screen if i buy one but why when i have a 4 year warranty??

system works fine with a external screen took it all apart and all cables are fine.. everything is tight. tested connectors with dmm and all voltage seems fine.. so its either the invertor or the screen itself.. or maybe the bulb..i really DONT WANT another samsung so how did you guys with the 1730's go about getting the lg instead?? im going to call tomm and set it up but need to see if there is a better way to get the lg with xps support first?? any ideas?? dealt with dell for my vostro 1500 a while back and in no way shape or form was i able to get the lg so i finally said screw dell and went my separate ways. now that i aqquired this 1730 and im really liking it so far i want to be able to enjoy it and this screen sucks i dont really want another one..

any input from those that have done it would be great. ill bet even the sharp is better than this thing is.. thanks in advance

There isn't much you can do besides request it. I have heard that most of the issues have been cleared up.

My 1730 has the v2 Samsung. My previous 1710 had the LG and I was hooked. I always figured the LG was better, but with the v2 Samsung I have to say I am very impressed. The color is much more natural and not overdone with the LG. I compared the two side by side using the same wallpaper and the LG was cooking some of the colors whereas the Samsung was more natural.

The LG is brighter, but I have to go with the v2 Sammy [IMG].

I have the Sharp, it hurts my eyes. I cannot keep it at max brightness, and I am not kidding :D
