    Every Dell notebook I've owned has used Hynix... but I can't speak for what yours would have.

    Brand wise they will use what ever is cheapest at the time of build. So you never know.

    I have a 2 gig stick of Mitsubishi and a 1 gig stick of Samsung.

    that is what i meant and also, is it okay if i don't use the ram with the exam specs listed above? like, if it was like 4600 or something instead of PC-5300.

    use what is listed. Corsair or G Skill makes ram that works fine. Go to www.youtube.com and check out the video at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7R5VYsdxIg it is very simple.
