If you get don't get the FHD B+RGLED 1080p screen, you'll 100% regret it.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I would pony up the 130 for the B+RGLED screen. It is truly a beautiful screen, beating out all high end consumer screens. The only rivals are HP's Dreamcolor 2 and RGBLED on the Precisions which cost hundreds more.
1) Yes, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0
2) If you have an i5 on your XPS 15 then you have Nvidia Optimus. Make sure that it is functioning properly in Device Manager with under Display Adapters both Intel and Nvidia drivers are installed
3) Yes the GT420M should play games just fine. Just realize it isn't the best gaming card, it's entry level mid range easily gets outperformed by the Mobility 5650.
4) There aren't a whole lot of known issues yet with the XPS 15 but I would buy that 3 year warranty to be safe. XPS line...has been known for it's issues. -
The 1080p screen is a $220 upgrade now, not $130. At least from when I go configure it.

Wow it just keeps going up huh? Initially it was a $130 upgrade, then $190 as of last week, then now its $215. Really shows the value of the B+RGLED upgrade.

Yeah, I am balking at the cost of some of their options on these XPS machines. I am looking to get an internal blu-ray burner, and they want $450 for one on the XPS 14. If Sony and HP can do them for $150 so should Dell. And even weirder, why isnt the BD-RE a possible option on the xps 15?
whether to go for dell xps 15
