i know its been covered, everyone gets the Kingston HyperX memory. BUT the XPS i thought only allowed ddr3 1333 pc3 10600 memory. yet everyone gets HyperX ddr3 1600 pc3 12800 memory.

why spend the extra when the motherboard will just down-clock it right? i hope its not an idiot question, im ready to get my XPS, and buying memory on newegg now..........

    please explain before i buy

    thanks!

they probly spend the extra dollars to either overclock the memory, or in hopes that one day dell will release a bios that will support the full 1600 speed.

i myself bought an extra ADATA 8gb 1333.... still waiting or my l702x to arrive :D

Faster RAM will not be noticed in normal usage. Maybe a slight difference while rendering.
