    which one please help me pick a winner out?

    Hi guys,

    New to the forum, after some advice please.

    Im torn between two models they are :

    1. Dell studio XPS 17

    Spec:

    i7 740
    500gb 7200rpm
    8gb ddr3
    3gb 445m gt

    2. Dell studio XPS 15

    Spec:

    i7 740
    500gb 7200rpm
    8gb ddr3
    2gb 435m gt.


    I think the only difference is that the xps 17 has a bigger screen 17'' which i suppose thats why they are xps 15 and xps 17?

    Also the gpu seems to be better on the xps 17, but how much better?

    I have £880 to spend well can go to £900 but that would probably be my max!

    Help me pick a winner guys?

    I would wait for the refresh (I believe late Jan/Feb)

    GT445 is a big jump over a GT435, more shaders, TMU but lower core clocks. I would say 20-25% but depends on what you are doing.

    Yeah i have heard about these new laptops coming out but i think they will be over £900.

    So the 445 is a big jump and a better card than the 435? Will it play the odd game the 445? Also how does it compare to that of the ati 5470?

    Well it might drop the prices currently. You missed out on the Dell EPP a few weeks ago, a XPS 15 was 600 shipped with i5, GT420M, and with 1080p screen and backlit keyboard was 750 shipped. (All prices are USD)

    445 beats a 5830 in benchmarks, so is much higher than a 5470 (low end mid range card)
