I went to my dell outlet today and I looked at the m130 they had on display. The screen was absolutely magnificent by far the most crisp screen have ever seen on a laptop. I checked the type of screen and im pretty sure its lg.

Because it seems like non-LG screens suck.
-
lol no the lg screen sucks..
-
Mmm, must be different for the M1730 then, my fault. I thought LG screens in general were great.
-
the lg does not dispay green colors properly they appear yellow, it has aweful light distribution, shows banding on all three colors red green and blue. whil yes i agree it is def a very bright and crisp screen its not right when things that should appear green show up yellow and the scren bands like crazy..but yes normally the lg screens are very nice just this one imo sucks
-
i hope i get a sharp screen then i guess :/
-
yeah i have all three here and i think personally the sharp is the best out of them and i have done extensive tests if you have read the 1730 thread..
-
off topic but what kind of harddrives does dell use
-
-
ok so since there hitachi the 200gb 7200s r way faster then the 320gb 5400s then.
-
mine was a seagate in my 1730 when i got it, my freinds was a western digital i think they use whatever they can get

I have had Dell change my new xps 1730 screen twice in the last couple of weeks. The first one they sent was a Samsung (Dell tech support replacement part number YU241) which had way too much light bleeding along the bottom of the screen. The second one they sent out is an LG (Dell tech support replacement part number YU828). This one, although much brighter, has very inconsistent light bleeding (almost looking like large splotches/waves of light bleeding on different areas of the screen.
Can someone give me the tech support replacement part number for the Sharp screen? (I live in the USA.)
Best regards. -
Yes I noticed how here was backlight bleed all over the screen with the LG plus the PQ was terrible and the color unadjustable. I just got the Samsung and I think the PQ is excellent. Yes it does have the backlight bleed at the bottom of the screen but doesn not affect the overall PQ. -
the only thing i am noticing with the sharp is it has a issue with some blue hue's where they break up and get blocky on some pics even really high quality ones. the samsung did this a little also but not as bad as the sharp is doing it..

why are people complaining about the m1730 screen?
