    why are teh XPS on such a delay?

    It almost always ships before the estimated delivery date. The reason it's so late is to give Dell some fallback room in case there is a delay with a particular order.

    Also, just throwing this out there, be sure to get the 1080p screen ;)
    Edit: (assuming you're getting the XPS 15 that is)

    Just ordered my XPS, UPS say it will arrive Monday 4th April, Dell estimated it would be the 20th April. Shows just how much quicker it does ship than estimated.

    PS. I got the 1080P screen. xD

    My order was confirmed on the 24th March and my delivery date is the 18th May!!

    I live in England, Gloucestershire.

    Hi - I just ordered and my EDD is on or before April 20. I have i7 2720, 4gb ram, 1030 wifi and the rest are the same as yours. I noticed that the last few days, the 6230 wifi has not been available online so I wonder if that is what is causing the longer EDD.

    ordered mine March 20th
    delivery date was to be May 5th
    site never really updated - even now it says Not Shipped

    but it got here yesterday...

    if you order now ,you will get your xps 17 soon, about 10 days, i ordered mine 03/30, the rep told me my xps will be shipped out in 2-3 day ..
    the estimated date is not true.....

    As everyone else has said, they are shipping much faster now but they havent changed their systems to cut down on the Estimated shipping times. I ordered on March 25th with an EDD of April 18th, got the computer Yesterday. Go ahead and order you'll def not wait till the 20th

    Don't believe it - Mine was ordered on March 8 with the Salesman's lies that it would arrive well before EOM. Changed to in production on 10th then no change. Est is 8 April (was 18th till i complained), but i can't see it getting to me by then with no updates. Salesman has now gone silent, and won't reply after saying they would confirm a delivery date.
