    why there is huge difference in battery life?

    But seriously, the preset battery settings have a lot to do with it. Some computers have very good power management in both under the hood and through software that manage battery life. more mainstream laptosp do not have any of those advantages.

    As far as I know the XPS lacks the Montevina chipset which also promises to reduce power usage somewhat.

    Graphic cards are different in both notebooks.. so it creates that huge difference? latitude claims 6+ hours battery life while xps 1530 runs for only about 3 hours.

    Well, I m looking for good battery life which e6500 provides but its not stylish as xps 1530.

    I can get 4 hours out of my XPS 1530 and i have the highest GPU

    with 6 cells battery?

    with 9 cell it can be stretched to 4 hours with everything set in order.


    while latitude does more time with 6 cells.
