    i am considering buying the xps 1530
    it will have

    Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.00 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache)

    3gb ram

    256mb 8600gt

    1280x800 wxga true life display

    will this be able to play either cod4, world in conflict or company of heroes in minimum settings

    Comp. of heroes and wic will probably be ok at medium.
    COD4 u probably have to dial it to low.

    i have seen cod4 played on a similar system (same GPU, lower RAM, slightly better CPU) and it ran perfectly fine, and looked great too. it will play at medium.

    I can play CoD 4 on High in Vista x64 SP1 at 1440x900 (screen res is native 1920x1200)

    The 8600M GT GDDR3 is much better than that. You'll be able to max COD4 completely at 1280x800.
