quite frequently but without a known pattern, the windows wireless lan 802.11 extensibility framework goes from using .6mb of ram to 6000mb and 100% cpu. It then goes back down to regular usage. When watching videos this causing skips.

    any ideas for a fix?

Same problem here on same system. It even happens when I'm on a USB Ethernet adapter and not using the wifi, but still connected. As a workaround I can disable the wifi adapter in this case.

I've experimented with swapping out/reinstalling WLAN drivers with no luck.

What wifi adapter is installed in your laptop? Broadcom or Intel? I put in Intel 8260, to but it mildly I trust Intel on drivers and performance more than Broadcom...

    It is a Broadcom.
Did the Intel adapter solved the problem?
