My budget allows for either one. I'm a casual gamer who does a lot of image editing and I watch video via iTunes. If the 1530 had an LED back-lit display it would be an easy choice...

I'm leaning toward the 1530 due to the GeForce 8600 GPU and the slight future proofing I'd get with it but I need to know how good the LCD is. I'd probably get the 1440x900 pixel screen. Any cons to getting the 1330 instead?

If you look at the picture comparison of led vs non led display, there isn't much of a difference in brightness. It impacts battery life the most so it boils down to how much you travel. Both will fit your needs and led vs non led is just a preference.

the 1530 does have a led back lit display, get the 8600, it should be a standard soon with performance pc's and sounds like your going to be using editing programs so get the 8600 ^^

Go for the m1530 unless you really need the portability.

I have an m1330 and I love it to bits, it's so damn light it's light holding a book. But I think I overestimated how much portability mattered when I'd stick a 15" laptop in my bag just like I do my 13". I do sometimes wish I went with the m1530 and benefited from the superior GPU and Blu-Ray.

m1330 runs hot with nVIdia 8400....

i thought that my m1330 was too small, but like the huge portability factor!
