well i have a dell latitude e6400 from the outlet and all of a sudden a ton of xps 1340s came in stock and i got a good one and im debating on whether i should keep i buy it or not and return my e6400. so i was wondering how do u guys like it? how long does the 6 cell last and does it overheat alot? and do u personally think its durable and will last as long as my e6400?

also has anyone dealt with returns on the xps? will they charge a restocking fee?

check out my review on the 1340.

Personally, I'd keep the e6400. The 1340 is nice but it does have its problem including short battery life and overheating on high-performance mode. If I could do it over I might have picked up an e4300 instead.

I love it!!!! It's the greatest laptop I've ever owned. The screen is absolutely brilliant and it does everything perfectly. It does get HOT on performance mode, but on power save mode, its really really cool. I've been able to squeeze out 3 hours on the 6 cell which is good for me. This is a powerful little machine - its not the lightest but looks sharp and delivers.

i also love mine. its extremely fast, web pages load very quickly, doesn't have slow downs, the screen is awesome, the backlit keypad is great, and the metalic build feels very sturdy.only complaints would be the trackpad is a little small and to the left, the glare on the screen, and dells quality control (i have had to have my mother board and screen replaced, didn't break, came with those defective). the battery is fine for me (2 -3 hrs)but you may need one thtsa longer lasting. the heat on mine isn't that bad at all, in performance mode it can get pretty hot around the vent, but thats it, its otherwise fairly average in heat. but other than that its been great.

well i like my e6400 but its kind of ugly and think the 1340 looks awesome. i want to keep it but im worried it might break within a couple years and only has a year warranty, while my e6400 has 3 and im worried about the build quality of the 1340
