Dell XPS 14 discontinued, will be replaced with something thinner and lighter -- Engadget
Evidently the xps 14 is gonna get redesigned.
The disappointing part is:
With the transition to Sandy Bridge technology, we chose to re-focus our efforts on incorporating this feedback into future thin and light products launching later this year. Stay tuned!"
man, I need my Sandy Bridge ASAP!

Its kinda impressive how quickly they're addressing shortcomings either real or perceived on their end. I know I personally liked the design, coming from a Latitude backgroud, but I remember many being less than enamored by its conservative looks.
Ironically, the E series refresh in the Latitude forum is getting flack for being too flashy and too "Consumery" go figure! -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Not surprised at all. Not such a huge jump from 14" to 15.6" and the XPS 15 was cheaper. You paid a premium for not much weight saving and a lower GPU. I would hope they brought back something like the XPS 1210 or another 13.3" XPS, something along that size/footprint.

The 14 was too clunky and not enough GPU power for the price. Although I've given up on Dell ATM, it would be nice to se them get back in the game with a decent 13.3".

Well lets hope. But they only mean the XPS 14 series will get redesigned. Have u ever heard of a comeback of the 1645/47 in some kind of way? People loved the design!!!!

Oh man that's a pity. I just bought an Acer 4820TG through my business thinking I will get the XPS 14inch when it gets a better battery life via Sandybridge for myself.
xps 14 discontinued (for seriously)
